Tom and Ruth Nighswander receive Alaska Philanthropy Award

It is with immense gratitude and admiration that we share this announcement about two people who have devoted over 20years to transforming lives in Malawi and at Malawi Children’s Village. Tom and Ruth Nighswander are recipients of the 2024 Alaska Philanthropy Outstanding Family Award!

Their lifelong commitment to Malawi Children’s Village and the people of Malawi, Africa, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Through their work, they’ve built hope where it was needed most, transforming communities through education, program development, and by sharing the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ with anyone that would listen. Their passion, humility, and selflessness are qualities that continue to inspire every day.

Ruth and Tom are more than philanthropists—they are mentors, leaders, and a beacon of light for all. Without trying, their dedication and passion is recruiting the next wave of dedicated volunteers.
