Gracious Does it Again
We are pleased to report that once again MCV’s Gracious Secondary School has far outperformed the national average on the national Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Exams, taken by Form 4 (12th grade) students. Gracious had 91 students write the exams out of which 85 passed. This 93% pass rate compares to a national passing rate of 55%.
As is regularly the case, many of MCV’s sponsored orphans were among the most successful students at Gracious. Notably, Macdonald Gamela scored the highest marks in the school at 13 points. MCV Director Felix Chirombo reports that Macdonald is 19 years old and comes from Kela Village. He comes from a family of five children and is the third born. Macdonald’s father died a long time ago and the children are being taken care of by their mother who has no business or source of income aside from subsistence farming.
Please join us in congratulating Gracious students, teachers, and staff on another tremendous year of success!
