MALAWI CHILDREN’S VILLAGE, EST. 1997
A Child Deserves More Than Survival.
In the villages along Lake Malawi's southwest shore, thousands of orphaned children are growing up without parents, but not without hope. Since 1997, Malawi Children's Village has been there, working alongside families and communities to make sure every child is seen, supported, and given the chance to thrive.
It takes a village to raise a child. We are that village.
OUR IMPACT
27 Years. 12,000 Children. One Proven Model.
Malawi Children's Village (MCV) is a Malawian-led nonprofit serving orphaned and vulnerable children across 39 villages in the Mangochi District, right on the shores of Lake Malawi. Our village-based model keeps children rooted in family and community while surrounding them with the healthcare, education, and nutritional support they need to grow into independent, healthy adults.
We don't build orphanages. We strengthen villages.

GRADUATE STORY
"I Did Not Know What I Would Do Without MCV."
Eunice Dzikiti, Secondary School English Teacher
When Eunice's father died, her path forward disappeared overnight. School felt impossible. The future felt out of reach. Then MCV stepped in. With financial support, encouragement, and a community that refused to let her fall through the cracks, Eunice earned a degree in education from Adventist University. Today she teaches secondary school English, and she is one of more than 12,000 children whose story MCV helped write.
VILLAGE VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
The Backbone of MCV: Our Village Volunteers
Two volunteers serve every one of MCV's 39 villages, local men and women who know their neighbors, understand their needs, and advocate for every orphaned child in their community. They identify children at risk, ensure families have what they need, and serve as the human link between MCV and the villages we serve. Some of the very first volunteers are still serving today, more than 25 years later.
